Bio

Julie Faulks is the owner and operator of Proactive Physiotherapy and has been operating as a Cairns-based physiotherapist in private practice physiotherapy for well over 30 years.

A focus on clear communication helps Julie to develop a real understanding of each patient’s situation and lifestyle, as well as their personal goals. She uses this knowledge to create and deliver specific treatments that are targeted to each individual patient’s needs, helping them to achieve their goals.

Julie is passionate about teaching her patients self management techniques that can help them to take ownership of their health, become proactive in the treatment of their own conditions and ultimately, get better sooner.

Educating herself and her team is also important for Julie, and in order to keep updated on the best and most effective ways of delivering optimum results to each and every client, Julie has immersed herself in over 30 years of continuing education.

Julie’s caring, friendly and professional manner and her high quality hands-on assessment and treatment, has seen generations of Cairn’s residents trusting Julie with their physiotherapy needs.

Clincal interests

Julie’s particular area of interest is Manipulative Physiotherapy and her Masters Degree in Orthopaedic Manipulative Physiotherapy has allowed her to advance her manual musculoskeletal skills to even higher levels.

Although her major thesis involved an extensive focus on the treatment of the neck and jaw pain, including headaches, Julie specialises in treating the whole spine, from the hips to the head.

Interests

Julie believes in a healthy, happy and balanced life and believes that leading by example is one of the best way to inspire her patients.

When she is not being a physiotherapist, Julie enjoys spending time with her husband and two kelpies, singing in the Soul Song choir and lots of travel.
